Terms of Service

1. The agreement

When you pay a deposit on a Joyful Sunrise itinerary, you're booking through Joyful Sunrise Pty Ltd (ABN 63 447 219 085), a registered Australian travel studio based in Deakin, ACT. We act as your agent with suppliers — airlines, lodges, venues and guides — and as the planner responsible for the overall design of your trip.

These terms apply to every booking we make for you, and to the use of this website. If anything below clashes with something we've promised you in writing, the written promise wins.

2. Booking & payment

• Deposit — 20% of the itinerary price secures your departure. Nothing is confirmed until the deposit lands.
• Balance — due 45 days before departure. We'll remind you; nobody enjoys surprise invoices.
• Quotes — prices are in AUD and stay valid for 7 days. Supplier price changes inside that window get absorbed by us.
• Event packages — buy-ins and entry fees are passed through at cost and clearly separated on your invoice.

3. Changes & cancellations

Life happens — cyclones, roster changes, surprise pregnancies. Here's how we handle it:

• You cancel 45+ days out — deposit back in full, minus any non-refundable supplier costs we've already paid (always itemised).
• You cancel inside 45 days — we recover what we can from suppliers and pass it back. Travel insurance usually covers the rest.
• We have to change something — you get an equivalent or better substitute, and a phone call explaining why. If we can't offer equivalent value, you get a full refund for that component.
• Weather or safety calls — field decisions by guides are final on the day. We re-plan around them; that's literally what we're for.

4. Responsibility

We plan carefully, vet every operator and stay reachable 24/7 while you travel. Some things sit outside anyone's control — weather, wildlife, a supplier's mechanical fault. Where that's the case we'll fix what we can and be honest about what we can't. Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and our desk can arrange it.

On licensed venues: entry rules, ID checks and responsible-service laws belong to the venue — we brief you on them, but they enforce them. Gaming areas are 18+, always.

5. Everything else

• Website content is ours — ask before reusing it.
• We may take photos on trips; tell us if you'd rather not appear.
• These terms are governed by ACT law. Disputes go to negotiation first, courts last — we've never needed the second.
• If a clause here is found invalid, the rest still stands.
